1932 Ford Tudor after 5 years of restoration
1932 Ford Tudor after 5 years of restoration

Well, it’s been a long time since I’ve shared anything with everybody. I finally closed the chapter on my 1932 Ford. The color was candy Root Beer, so I called it Root Beer. I know, it’s not too original. But after several problems with the car, the name was changed to Pandora. I could do several chapters on the trials and tribulations of rebuilding an old car. It seemed that every time I tried to fix something, it opened a new set of problems, which opened even more problems. After five years of fighting with the car I decided it was time to part ways with it.  I took Pandora to Barrett/Jackson auction about a month ago and it was sold. In ways it was sad to see it go, but in so many ways I was happy to be rid of a major headache. With just an eleven-gallon tank and the car getting around 10 miles per gallon, it was not exactly a car to go crusin’ in.

There are now seven Matt Preston books in print. I’ve been working on an eighth but I’m not really happy with the story and all. Hopefully, I can get the story figured out but time will tell.

I see from the sales report Matt Preston is being read in Canada, Australia, England and India. Yeah, India. It surprised me too. To all who have read any of my books, a big thank you. I hope you’ve enjoyed them.

Later this summer we have plans to take a river cruise down the Mississippi River. It seems when I was in school, in my US History classes the river played a big role in the development of our country. After reading about it so often I’ve wondered what it was like. In addition, a lot of fiction books take place on the river as well. Who hasn’t read Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn? I want to experience what the river is like. Right now, the news is there is a drought and I hope we are able to take the trip. Last year we took a river trip down the Danube River. A week after our cruise the river flooded. I read where several stops had to be changed due to the flooding. The cruise was very interesting. Lots of churches and castles.

Hope this finds all of you well and happy. I’ll try and be a little more conscientious in writing in my blog. Thanks for reading.
